Kilobitul pe secundă nu trebuie confundat cu kilooctetul (sau kilobaitul) pe secundă (kBps), care este egal cu 8 kilobit pe secundă sau 8 kbps. Tot aşa, megabitul pe secundă, Mbps, nu trebuie confundat cu megabaitul pe secundă, MBps, care este de 8 ori mai mare decât un Mbps.
În industria calculatoarelor se mai foloseşte prin tradiţie şi definiţia 1 kilobit = 1.024 bit, de unde avem şi 1 kbps = 1.024 bps. Acestea însă se abat de la Sistemul Internaţional SI şi de aceea nu se recomandă. Pe de altă parte, în 1998 au fost definite prefixe noi, binare, conform cărora de exemplu 1.024 bit = 1 kibibit (1 Kibit). Pentru detalii vezi articolul Prefixe binare.

Deci, astazi am depus cererea de conectare la MTC, pachetul de 150 lei MaxFiber. Sper sa nu am probleme cu ei. Deja contractul il voi semna spre sfarsitul saptamanii, cand voi avea ceva timp. Mai nou, ei mi-au propus ca instalatorii sa aduca contractul cu ei la conectare, si sa-l semnez pe loc, iar in decurs de 2 zile sa efectuez plata serviciilor. Nice, imi place :) Domnisoara a vorbit destul de amabil, si a mai glumit pe langa toate. Deocamdata, raman multumit, luand in consideratie faptul ca la moment sunt abonat al "companiei" Nipol-Net (firma de 2 bani, cu servicii si o atarnare fata de client la fel, de 2 bani).

Ne vedem la sfarsitul saptamanii, si multumesc pentru raspunsurile/sfaturile acordate.

salut !!!!! Am un modem de la orange ! eram la aboniment 150 lei(contract) . la moment am suspendat serviciul . Intrebarea care-i / daca pot sai dau la alt OM modemul n-o sa am probleme cu cei de la ORANGE ???

Sper  ca nu ati ris  demul    ca  amu  vine  o  poanta    tare
Am o verishoara  in  raionu nisporeni    si de  vreo  saptamina  nu merge  netu
a sunat  la mtc din nisporeni  si a  facut  chemare  sa  vina  unexpert  tehnic
peste  doau  zile  apare si  ,,ciumadan" upss.....  experut
se  uita,    se invirteste    pe linga  modem , bate vreo  doua matanii apoi  deschide calculatoru  si  deoadat    face  concluzia
netu nu merge  deatita  ca  windowsu  ii  ITALIENESC nu am  ideie  de unde a luat  asa  informatie
si el  nu merge  la  netu nostru  MALDAVINESC
si ca sa  mearga netu  trebuie sa ii skimbe    windowsu  si sa ii pui ativirus

ps.  windowsul este    instalat  de mine  , este  o  versiune    in rusa de  64  de la  Ctrlsoft
