Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1989. The band consists of three core members: Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, lead vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums).

Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Its early releases for independent label Lookout! Records earned them a grassroots fanbase, some of whom felt alienated when the band signed to a major label. Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie became a breakout success in 1994 and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. alone. As a result, Green Day was widely credited, along with fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States. Green Day's three follow-up albums, Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning did not achieve the massive success of Dookie, but they were still successful, reaching double platinum, double platinum and gold status respectively. Its 2004 rock opera American Idiot reignited the band's popularity with a younger generation, selling 5 million copies in the U.S.

When asked about the next Green Day album, they mention it won't be coming anytime in the next year, but he did say this about the 10 demo songs they have recorded so far

Billie Joe Armstrong: definitely Green Day, but with a touch of Foxboro Hot Tubs, too.

Green Day will be releasing a live album. Which possible include new songs played live ( Cigarettes and Valentines & Olivia ).

Billie Joe's message on twitter: "We've been recording our live shows since the beginning of tour. Possible Live album coming. A ton of songs! We're in texas!" - message was confirmed at a live show by him.

Deci, în curînd vom avea încă un album de genu Bullet In A Bible, însă de live DVD nimic pînă ce.

Earlier this year Billie Joe mentioned on Twitter the band was recording the tour to make a live album. The band confirmed this in an interview and mentioned that they've recorded every show during the tour. We can now confirm that a concert DVD will be released with the album, and we can expect it in late-spring or early-summer 2011.

An exact release date hasn't been set, as all the details are still being worked out. We don't know what shows they'll include, the setlist or the format of the DVD (whether it'll just be a concert performance on DVD, a mix of multiple shows, if they'll include little cut-away interviews like Bullet in a Bible did) - all that stuff won't be known till later on.

I know for Green Day fans waiting is painful. Let's remember the the guys have been on tour for the past year and a half and are hopefully enjoying a little break from all that now. Then they have to pick out the setlist, what shows they want to include, send it off to be mastered, and now that we know a DVD is coming as well - it'll take time to go through all the footage and edit something together.

It'll be great to have another live album and DVD, especially for this tour, because the band has been at the top of their game. Now we can just hope that they'll include some of the older material (along with Cigarettes and Valentines) which they performed during the tour.

Green Day has just released a trailer for their highly anticipated live album, Awesome As Fuck, that will be coming out on March 15th of this year.

The live album will feature a CD with songs from a number of stops on their 21st Century Breakdown world tour and a bonus DVD featuring songs from Green Day's two night stand at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama-shi, Japan last January.
