Gentoo este considerat unul dintre cele mai flexibile şi mai bine gândite distributive. Particularitatea sa principală constă în faptul că tot softul (afară poate de utilitele de bază, care intră în stage3) este compilat din surse, lucru care permite o optimizare maximă a sistemului.
De obicei de el se apucă utilizatorii avansaţi, deşi am văzut tovarăşi pentru care Gentoo a fost primul distributiv... :-)

Plusul principal pe care eu îl văd în acest sistem (pe lângă mărirea vitezei şi optimizare, clar) este faptul că instalând-ul, cunoşti mai bine structura şi modul de funcţionare al Linux-ului.

mai bine să foloseşti pentru configurare un pic mai mult timp, în schimb compilarea să dureze mai puţin. La mine pe un PIII 1000MHz 256 RAM kernelu se strângea în vreo 10-15 minute.

#592 dvdriper, Он ругается на то что не может запустить видео в 8 битном режиме.

Вот попробуй такой конфиг, единственное поменяй разрешения на те которые у тебя.

А если есть проблемы сразу смотри в лог он там сразу пишет что и как.

вопрос, понимаешь-ли!

[blocks B ] sys-apps/mktemp (is blocking sys-apps/coreutils-6.12)
как с этим бороться? Сначала снёс mktemp - но это мешает обновить некоторые пакеты по emerge world ...

(я включил нестабильные пакеты строчкой ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86")

#595 Gentoo, сейчас, докомпиллится ядро, и покажу

Особые мучения мне доставляет факт, что вот уже три ядра разных отказались загружать систему в vmplayer... При этом, в qemu пашет

Загрузка в vmplayer тормозится строкой
PIIX4: port disabled
то есть тупо отключается ATA :lol:

прикол - что то-же самое ядрышко с livecd грузится без проблем... И я с него захожу на HDD, в chroot, и в системе ковыряюсь
