Arsenal are also admirers of Leicester's assistant boss and head of recruitment Steve Walsh who oversaw the signings of Mahrez, Kante and Vardy. Much of Leicester’s achievements must be attributed to Steve Walsh, their highly regarded head of recruitment.

It was no surprise that Walsh was retained at the King Power Stadium this summer, despite the departure of manager and close friend Nigel Pearson, while it is also no shock that he has recently been linked to Arsenal. Walsh’s fingerprints are over the majority of this resurgent squad, who have gone from relegation escapologists to being contenders for the title. Those foundations have not gone unnoticed by Ranieri:

“Me and the team is the pinnacle of the iceberg but behind that is very good staff,” beams Ranieri. “When I came here I was told we had impressive staff and it is true. The recruitment is fantastic. I work very well with Steve. He’s very important, when we look at football we share the same ideas. There is a very good relationship between me and him. We are a team that is growing up. When I arrived here, he [Walsh] pushed me and then in July he said, ‘Kanté, Claudio, Kanté’. He was determined to sign him more than I was – but Kanté has been fantastic for us. Can he be one of the best midfielders in Europe? Yes, he can achieve this target.”

While Walsh admits modern-day scouting is becoming more difficult, because of the vast amount of money clubs are investing to find another Vardy, he is always confident of unearthing the next one: “There are a few players out there who don’t play for us who I believe in. If an opportunity comes along to bring a player for a position the manager wants, then I am halfway there with it because I am convinced he will be good for us,” he said. “When you do find that diamond, that nugget, it does give you that buzz. That is partly why you do the job. It gives you job satisfaction because everyone wants to do a job they feel is worthwhile and are good at.”

dar pe asta ar fi foarte greu sa-l aducem la noi luand in consideratie statutul sau in club si ca toata cariera practic e legata de Leicester. Totul va depinde de pozitiile pe care vom finisa noi si Leicester si ce se va intampla cu ei la vara

Pana la urma noi avem ce oferi lui, ceea ce n-ar putea Leicester. Iar omul lor, cu care el lucra in concordanta, deja e la noi... are ce sa-i spuna cand va sta el la dubii vreodata :look:

Arsene Wenger says that Gabriel is benefiting from playing more regularly, having started three games in succession for the first time since October.

“Gabriel has done well,” he said. “He has performed well and overall I think the confidence comes with games, which is interesting. You know Gabby, he is a very good player. He likes his duels and he can play with the ball and passes. He played very well but the whole back four played well because we stayed together.”

#170641 Cebbo, ii bravo king, lasa sa vorbeasca, mult stimatul nostru antrenor il luase peste picior ca cica este platit sa vorbeasca, pai iata fara pretentii, omu este platit sa vorbeasca si vorbeste adevarul si is sigur ca de parerea asta nu e numai el ci chiar si multi fani Arsenal, hai sa nu ne imbatam cu apa rece, echipa asta nu are caracter, nu are lideri in echipa, eu nu o sa ma mir daca anu asta noi pierdem campionatul in fata lui Leicester sau Tottenham(cit de straniu nu ar suna) bai cit timp i s-a dat lui Wenger,un antrenor normal ar fi construit deja o echipa echilibrata si nu spun neaparat o echipa care sa cistige an de an titlul si sa ajunga minim in semifinala UCL fiecare an, ci o echipa care sa lupte pentru titlu o echipa stabila, care daca ii necesar sa cistige 3 puncte ea face lucrul asta, indiferent de cum joaca, ce jucatori is pe teren si ce adversar, asa se cistiga titlurile, insa noi luptam numai pentru loc in UCL si atit , noi acum mai speram la titlu din cauza nivelului slab a celorlalte cluburi de top(Chelsea,Liverpool,M.U. Man.city), dar de la anul ele vor prinde aripi, Pep la City, Mou la united, Klopp incetu cu incetu isi va construi si el echipa, chiar Tottenham arata foarte bine, da noi shi, a da noi o sa ne aninam de ce spune Henry, o sa pierdem in fata lui Monaco si Olympiakos in UCL, desi acum avem scuze, jucam impotriva lui Barca si o sa ne laudam cu performantele lui Ozil si Sanchez. :derpthumb:
