Wenger revealed that Coquelin having come through the academy system, spending nearly seven years as a Gunner and having the club at his heart was a major reason for keeping patience and giving him a chance.

He said, “Francis is contributing to the team well at the moment and he has shown that he has matured through difficulties. I kept patience with him because I saw his talent and also because I give a huge importance to people who have been educated at the club and who have been brought up together because they know what the club means.

“When you have six or seven players in the squad who think this is the club they want to be at, of course this gives us strength and brings stability to the team.”

Bale was interviewed on Spanish radio show Cadena Ser show El Larguero (the crossbar) last night, when he revealed the identity of his boyhood club.

‘I used to like Arsenal a lot,’ he admitted. ‘But when I moved to Tottenham of course I liked them less – but I really admired Thierry Henry and Patrick Viera, those kind of players. They were incredible.’

Thierry Henry has been in Wales for the ‘last few days’ ahead of undertaking a UEFA B licence course. Should the 37-year-old pass, he is likely to complete his A licence in the summer.

The Welsh FA’s headquarters are based in Newport, where Henry will follow the likes of David Ginola in taking the courses. Henry gave a presentation to the Wales Under 16 squad earlier this week and is set to be joined on the course by former team-mate Freddie Ljungberg.

#160962 AndPro89, "... ma uit la pozele lui , cam slabut e pentru EPL ..." - Nu-i necesar să ai figură de bodybuilder în EPL, adică, evident că forma fizică e foarte importantă dar masa musculară nu influențează în niciun fel asupra potențialelor accidentări. Probabil așa e tipul lui de corp, în forma asta el se simte cel mai bine și poate arăta cel mai bun joc. Sigur e un lucru: nu a avut accidentări serioase în carieră.
Godin (cel cu care Gabriel este deseori comparat) tot nu-i cacioc, și totuși e world class defender sunt sigur că s-ar descurca foarte bine în orice ligă. Gabriel evident că încă nu-i la nivelul lui Godin, dar are 24 de ani
