#1529 Sanchos, Henry a suferit o usoara accidentare si nu a jucat in meciul de azi, dar Henry posibil sa nu joace si inca cateva meciuri.. el are nevoie de odihna, pentru ca a avut un sezon supra incarcat si acum fizicul sau sufera oleak...

#1530 BNQ, Presa scrie niste timpenii despre Henry, precum ca el s-ar fi sfadit cu Wenger si ar fi parasit Atrenamentele.. Asta tot e fuflo... Wenger a declarat ca in zilele urmatoare va discuta cu Henry despre situatzia s-a.. posibil ca el sa rateze meciul cu chelski.... spre binele lui..

#1528 veaceslavic, meciul cu sperz e cel mai impotant meci al sezonului p/u orice fan al Tunarilor.. rivalitatea acestor echipe din nordul londrei este una din cea mai veche din istoria fotbalului englez si dateaza aparoape de 100 de ani..
Cat despre chelsea.. meciul cu aristocratzii reprezinta pentru mai un simplu derby londonez.. iar in ultimii ani si un derby de clasament.

Wenger: We'll play to win in Porto

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he has no intention of playing for a draw against Porto in the Champions League against Porto next week

The Gunners need only a point at the Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday night to progress from Group G along with their hosts, which would send Russian side CSKA Moscow out.

Wenger, however, maintains his team will not be in a negative frame of mind.

He said: "It is very difficult mentally to go out and say 'we are playing for a draw'.

"We go to try and win the game.

"We will certainly not be super-adventurous, but we will try to win the game because it is the only way.

"I would never say to my team 'go out there and play for a draw'."

Wenger added: "It is a temptation for the players because the interest of both teams is to play for a draw - but the spirit of the game is to play to win."

The cost of defeat is not lost on the Arsenal manager, with the prospect of only UEFA Cup football at the impressive new 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium next year clearly not a palatable one.

Wenger accepts sometimes such issues get to the players.

Last season, Arsenal reached the final of the Champions League following a goalless draw at Villarreal, an intense encounter at El Madrigal where his team defended a slender 1-0 first-leg lead.

"I must say, on that night, my team refused to play. They refused to lose, they just wanted to keep the cushion of the goal," said Wenger.

"The fact it would be the first time Arsenal could get to the final of the Champions League was so much in the head of the players.

"The subconscious restriction was so strong that, even if we said to them at half time, 'come on let's go forward', they would think 'it is too risky'.

"When you lose that spontaneous way to play, it is very difficult to fight against it."

Wenger feels the recent criticism of his side following some inconsistent performances in the Premiership have been unfounded.

He said: "In 2004, we have not lost a game. In 2005, we have won the FA Cup. In 2006, we have been in the Champions League final.

"Now we lose some games and suddenly the whole club is collapsing.

"It is unbelievable."

Arsenal will be without captain Thierry Henry in Porto because of suspension, meaning much of the attacking emphasis is set to be on 23-year-old Dutchman Robin van Persie.

Wenger said: "I feel he has developed well as a player.

"I think there is a lot more in him.

"Sometimes for us he plays on the left, for Holland on the right. Sometimes he plays central. Maybe central is his best position."

Arsenal were too strong for Porto, the 2004 Champions League winners, when they met at the end of September.

Since then, Jesualdo Ferreira's side have thrashed Hamburg twice and won in Moscow.

"I think they are more solid," said Wenger, a good friend of their president Jorge Pinto Da Costa, who tried to bring the French coach to Portugal back when he was with Monaco.

"They have been very dangerous - especially in the game I saw against Moscow," Wenger added.

injury, a sciatic nerve, tiredness, a training-ground tantrum or a trace of polonium 210 at the Emirates Stadium, Thierry Henry managed to play a dramatic part on derby day.

Rumours abounded before kick-off of a disagreement with Arsene Wenger reported in a tabloid splash in the morning. Henry duly spent all day on a PR offensive that Max Clifford would have admired. He gave interviews to explain how upset he was to miss such a game, spent the match down on the touchline as a very visible cheerleader in chief and ambled on to the pitch at the end to embrace and share jokes with Arsenal's jubilant players. He certainly looked a lot happier than he has while playing of late.

eu zic ca in meciul cu porto va fi o egalitate, vom avea parte de un meci de genu Werder-Chelsea, daca cistiga CSKA la Hamburg, atunci ea se poate califica, si acest lucru nu e in interesul lui Porto & Arsenal (parerea mea)

CESC FABREGAS was last night crowned as the finest young player in Europe as an Arsenal player at last picked up an individual award.

While Gunners skipper Thierry Henry was overlooked for both the Golden Ball and the FIFA World Player of the Year title, Fabregas came out top of a poll to find the leading under-21 player on the continent.

The 19-year-old was the runaway winner of the Golden Boy award, presented by Italian paper TuttoSport, based on a poll of leading writers across Europe.

Fabregas was named in top spot by 19 of the 30 judges, to finish with 253 points, ahead of second-placed Lionel Messi of Barcelona, on 179. :ae:

Henry insists he is happy at Arsenal

'I am at Arsenal for life. I will not go to Barcelona'

Thierry Henry has moved to silence rumours of a rift with Arsène Wenger, insisting he will stay at Arsenal for life.

Henry, who signed a new four-year deal at Arsenal over the summer, missed Saturday's clash against Tottenham on Saturday and admitted he was frustrated when he was ruled out of the derby at the training ground the day before. But he was quick to reiterate his commitment to the club after fresh speculation over a move to Barcelona.

"The club have the same ambitions as me," said Henry, who could be out injured for six weeks. "Regarding the recruitment in the summer, my confidence was not betrayed. I am at Arsenal for life. I will not go to Barcelona."

Henry admitted prior to the victory over Spurs that he was frustrated at missing the clash but he has again denied a bust-up with Wenger.

In an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe, he said: "Quite simply, it is true that I can be a pig! It is not a lie to say that. Sometimes, I feel that I am in the right even when I am wrong. But to claim that I wanted the power - no. To say that I wanted to play in a 4-5-1 - no. Everyone that knows me knows that I prefer to play alongside a team-mate (in attack)."

Arsenal will be without their talisman for Wednesday's Champions League clash at Porto, he was suspended for the trip to Portugal as well, and he could be out until the new year.

"It is the same as after the game in Dublin for France (1-0 win against Republic of Ireland) last season," he added. "I have to say stop for a month, maybe a month-and-a-half, for the pain to go away.

"After having 60 matches in 2006, there comes a point when your body says stop. And it is necessary to listen to it. I am frustrated by that, because I cannot help my team on the pitch. It is something that I find difficult to accept. But I did not argue with Arsene Wenger."
