Prototype 2 is an upcoming video game set for release on April 24th 2012 under development by Canadian Radical Entertainment and is the sequel to 2009's Prototype. Like its original, the game is set to be published by Radical Entertainment's owner, Activision, and will be released in 2012. The game is set to feature a new protagonist, Sergeant James Heller as he goes on his quest to destroy the Blacklight Virus once and for all. The story is also one of revenge, as Heller wants to kill Mercer after his family was killed in the outbreak of the Blacklight Virus. Set in an open world shown in a third-person view perspective. The game was announced at the 2010 Spike VGA Awards with the tagline "Murder your Maker".

Prototype 2 se afla in dezvoltare pentru Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 si PC, decizia realizarii unei continuari fiind luata dupa ce primul titlu a depasit 2 milioane de unitati vandute.Gamerii vor prelua rolul sergentului James Heller, personaj care se afla in urmarirea lui Alex Mercer, protagonistul primul joc. Pentru a putea sa-i faca fata, Heller ia decizia de a deveni mutant, apeland la acelasi ser care l-a transformat si pe Mercer.
Prototype 2 este un joc video de viitoare stabilite pentru eliberarea pe 24 aprilie 2012 în curs de dezvoltare de Radical Entertainment din 2009. Ca său original, jocul este setat pentru a fi publicate de către proprietarul lui Radical Entertainment, Activision, si va fi lansat în 2012. Jocul este setat la dotate cu un protagonist nou, sergentul James Heller ca el merge in incercarea sa de a distruge virusul Blacklight o dată pentru totdeauna.Povestea este, de asemenea, unul din răzbunare, ca Heller vrea sa-l omoare Mercer după ce familia sa a fost ucis în focar de Virus Blacklight.
Jocul va abandona stilul magazinului de puteri al jocului precedent, in favoarea unui mod mai interactiv de achizitionare a noi metode prin care inamici pot fi eviscerati.
Jucatorii vor putea gasi prin lumea jocului diverse cuiburi de monstri, care odata curatate de locatari, prin absorbirea lor, ii vor oferi personajului abilitati suplimentare, sau i le vor imbunatati pe cele existente.
Schimbarile vor fi observabile in puterea atacurilor, cat si in aspectul personajului, lucruri precum lame devenind mai lungi, mai ascutite si mai amenintatoare.
Alternativ, se vor mai putea capata abilitati suplimentare direct de la unii inamici.
Pe langa acestea, va fi si o selectie de mutatii pe care jucatorul le va putea echipa intr-un numar limitat de socluri, ce vor accentua anumite proprietati ale personajului.
Vor fi desigur mai multe mutatii decat socluri, incurajand specializarea. Prototype 2 va fi lansat tocmai anul viitor, asa ca daca nu l-ati jucat inca pe primul, inca mai aveti timp.
