И Showtime, и исполнитель роли Декстера Майкл Си Холл хотят продолжить сотрудничество и дать сериалу как минимум еще два года жизни. Но на разных условиях. Контракт Холла закончился и теперь его представители пытаются получить с кабельного гиганта $24 млн. в качестве гонорара за седьмой и восьмой сезоны. Представители же канала готовы выплатить только $20 млн. и разница в четыре миллиона и является камнем преткновений.

Любая из этих сумм сделает Холла одним из самых высокооплачиваемых актеров на телевидении. По данным инсайдеров существует такой вариант разрешения конфликта — вместо планирующихся двух сезонов «Декстер» будет продлен только на один, а гонорар, соответственно, окажется ниже обсуждаемого в данный момент.
