Kieran Richardson (Bently Boy) has signed for Sunderland, for an undisclosed fee believed to be around 5.5m.

The winger became Roy's fourth signing of the summer and the Irishman is delighted to welcome him at the club.

'I'm delighted we've been able to bring Kieran to Sunderland,' Keane told Sunderland's official website.

'Having worked with him in the past I'm well aware of what a good player and a good lad he is. He's ready for a fresh challenge and hopefully Sunderland will provide that for him.'

Richardson himself said that it was an exciting move for him and he was looking forward playing under Keano.

Well, I think nobody at United will be sorry to see the back of Richardson. His first few games were encouraging and led many of us to believe that he's a great talent. He's got talent but lacks composure, consistency, footballing intelligence and maybe attitude, too.

His loan spell at West Bromwich was a huge success for him but he could not cut it at Old Trafford. His departure is not surprising, considering that even the most dedicated Richardson fan would be hard pushed to pick a game where the young winger excelled. He had decent games but I could not choose a best one - he was average at best.

What is perplexing that why Keano signed him. The reported fee is incredible, though if Michael Chopra was worth 5m then Richardson's also worth that amount - no need now to start lamenting the ridiculous prices of the contemporary transfer market, especially in the Premiership.

However, rumour had it that Keano, when spoke about young players not having the right attitude and becoming big-time Charlies after signing their professional deals, had Richardson very much in his mind as a perfect example. His infamous MUTV rant that resulted in his departure from the club included an attack on Richardson, or so it's believed. Has he changed his opinion or was it only a stupid rumour and he never considered Richie to be lazy? We'll never know, I fear.

Well, it's hardly the point now. He's gone and won't be missed, especially with the options we have in his position. Good luck to him at Sunderland, hopefully he'll rediscover his West Brom form. Farewell, Kieran!

Juan Pablo Carrizo’s agent claims both Manchester United and Manchester City have made bids for him.

Carrizo is already the subject of an offer from Lazio, whilst Real Zaragoza have just entered the bidding.

The Argentine international, 23, is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in South America and he looks as is he could seal a move to Europe this summer.

Now it is claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson and Sven Goran Eriksson have locked horns for the first time since the Swede arrived in Manchester.

“The player also has offers from Manchester United, Manchester City and Lazio,” Jose Alberti told GRT.

“The decision is now with the club but the kid has told them he wants to move to Europe.

“He is a complete player and can do everything, he has a big future.”
