Зинаида Гречанная родилась в 1956 году, окончила Кишиневский финансово-экономический техникум и Государственный университет Молдовы по специальности "экономист". С 1994 года занимала различные ответственные посты в Министерстве финансов. Начинала с должности заместителя начальника Главного управления разработки и анализа бюджета. Данный проект называется Vulture. Разработчики называют свой продукт самолётом с возможностями спутника: аппарат умеет просто парить над определённым районом, ведя исследование многие месяцы подряд. В основу проекта Vulture положена разработка НАСА. Сотворить столь долговечный самолёт очень непросто. Необходимо учитывать общую надёжность системы, сделать зацикленную энергетическую систему, максимизировать эффективность работы и найти способ предотвратить старения материалов. В проекте, машинка сможет везти 450 кг, работая от 5-киловаттного источника энергии, сохраняя при этом достаточную скорость, чтобы держаться в воздухе на высоте 18-20 км. Пока у инженеров имеется несколько взглядов на этот проект. Кто-то выступает за создание цельной системы, кому-то больше нравится идея модульных соединений (как в космических кораблях). Есть ещё и вариант с ремонтом/обслуживанием самолёта прямо в воздухе. Проблем с энергией не меньше. От ядерного топлива решено было сразу отказаться. Осталось два варианта: либо заправлять самолёт в воздухе, либо использовать солнечные батареи. This breakthrough is an important step in eventually identifying signs of life on a planet outside our solar system. The molecule found by Hubble is methane, which under the right circumstances can play a key role in prebiotic chemistry -- the chemical reactions considered necessary to form life as we know it. This discovery proves that Hubble and upcoming space missions, such as NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, can detect organic molecules on planets around other stars by using spectroscopy, which splits light into its components to reveal the "fingerprints" of various chemicals. "This is a crucial stepping stone to eventually characterizing prebiotic molecules on planets where life could exist," said Mark Swain of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena, Calif., who led the team that made the discovery. Swain is lead author of a paper appearing in the March 20 issue of Nature. The discovery comes after extensive observations made in May 2007 with Hubble's Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS). Правда, гордиться таким сомнительным достижением вряд ли стоит: по данным российских медиков, более 2,5 миллионам наших граждан поставлен диагноз - алкоголизм, не говоря уже о высочайшем уровне смертности от чрезмерного употребления спиртных напитков. А Роспотребнадзор утверждает, что, в действительности, в нашей стране пьют не менее 15 литров алкоголя на душу населения. При этом большой процент приходится на детей и подростков: пик массового приобщения к спиртным напиткам в нашей стране - 13-15 лет, то есть группа, не учитывающаяся в общей таблице специалистами ВОЗ.Первую строчку рейтинга ВОЗ заняла Уганда: обитатели этой африканской страны потребляют 17,6 литров алкоголя в месяц.
