daca nu facem nici un transfer rezulta ca Fabregas va fi folosit ca si CM, ma tem pe parcursul sezonului sa nu apara probleme cu defensiva

The reaction of Arsenal fans was easily the most amusing part of the Cesc Fabregas transfer. The midfielder had been their golden boy for years before ditching the Gunners in search of trophies at Barcelona, and the news that he was going to Chelsea despite Arsenal having first option on him was greeted in downright hilarious fashion.

Arsene Wenger claimed that Arsenal simply weren't interested in bringing the 27-year-old to the Emirates, but Jose Mourinho has a different explanation: Fabregas simply wasn't interested in a return:

I spoke with him for 20 minutes. I think he really wanted to come to us. As you know Arsenal had an option where they could interfere but I think he was not open to that. He was very much in our direction. It was an easy job for me. Source: Guardian.

And those quotes have succeeded in their role, which was to annoy Arsenal fans all over again. Well done, Jose. But wait, there's more -- Mourinho's also trained his guns on Jack Wilshere.

Even if true, I couldn't imagine a contract longer than just the one year for the 36-year-old. While I'm sure he's still decent -- he played the game-changing role off the bench to perfection in at least one of Ivory Coast's matches at the World Cup -- he'd most likely just keep Fernando Torres company on the bench as Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku would occupy the top two spots on the depth chart. Still, if Chelsea were ever in need of a goal late, throwing Costa, Lukaku, and Drogba on at the same time could be criminally awesome for us.

A much more intriguing and much more likely role would be that of technical staff, probably even before his playing career was officially over. It's almost worth signing Drogba just to have him come in to coach, mentor, and keep the young strikers like Lukaku in line.
