"Wolf" a iesit oficial pe 2 aprilie, but it had leaked way earlier, asa ca am avut destul timp sa-mi formez opinie argumentata.   Initial, nu stiam ce sa astept, dar nu speram la cine stie ce. It's way more mellowed out than any of his releases, that's for sure; productionul e mai jazzy, mai dreamy, mai atmosferice, dar totodata avind amprenta Odd Future. It grows on you, pe masura ce tot ascultam albumul, inca o data, si inca o data, incepe din ce in ce mai mult sa-ti placa. In orice caz, ce vad eu, ca iubitor al creatiei OF, Tyler indeosebi cu albumul "Bastard"; e faptul ca el se maturizeaza ca artist, dar pastrindu-si specificul ridicol, vulgar, depresiv, excentric in creatia lui.     Daca as fi pus in situatia de a compara albumul asta, cred ca l-as compara cu "The Marshall Mathers LP" al lui Eminem. Chiar "Collosus" e un fel de "Stan" al lui Tyler - foarte amuzant track-ul, mai ales cum se termina ( just take the fucking picture man, shit ), had me and my little brother who happened to be in the same room, laughing out loud (sau "Pigs", ca un fel de "White America" al lui Eminem). Intreg albumul e un fel de dezvaluire al lui Tyler, caci toata muzica sa, in principiu revolva in jurul persoanei, carismei lui Tyler, la fel cum s-a intimplat si cu Eminem de exemplu (he had problems with his mom, Tyler wants to know his dad and other similarities). Desi urmeaza un anumit concept, creind si anumite personaje ca (Sam, Salem), nu-l urmeaza pina in punctul in care trebuie sa asculti track-ul precedent p/u a intelege vreun track cum ar fi cu Kendrick Lamar.   It's a really fun album to listen to, his lyrics are witty, hillarious, smart, but at the same time pretty vulgar, offensive, insensitive you know the Odd Future specialty , dar nu in masura in care a fost pe Goblin, facind ca albumul cela sa para cam stupid. Tot e acelasi Tyler in principiu, he's still angry, he's still immature, he's still Tyler, to sum it up. Deci pe "Wolf" este de toate, there are your fun tracks, go stupid tracks like "Domo23", "Collosus", "Jamba", "Tamale" and the hillarious, catchy "Trashwang" and your serious ones, like the dramatic, tense "Answer", or the Wu-Tang'esque "Rusty", "Cowboy" etc.   Iar ceea ce am observat pe "Wolf" e ca Tyler isi manifesta, in felul lui desigur x), si partea sa mai sensibila, atingind tema dragostei p/u o fata al carei nume nu a fost dezvaluit nici pe Bastard, prin track-uri ca "IFHY" (influenta lui Pharrell facindu-se evidenta), "Awkward", "Bimmer" etc. Atinge subiecte destul de relevante p/u anxietatile, temerile unui adolescent, many can relate to that.   The sound of this album seems to be influenced by artists whom Tyler really enjoys, like N.E.R.D., Pharrell; Wu-Tang, a lot of jazz, since Tyler himself admitted to being a big fan of jazz; and it all clashes together to create the unique sound of ... well, "Wolf". Mi-a placut mult, Tyler in continuare arata ca are un potential enorm, and I don't want to sound like dickrider bandwagoner, dar cu albumul asta el isi consolideaza o pozitie anterior pusa la dubiu de numerosi critici in cultura hip-hop-ului. E unic, e amuzant de ascultat, dar desigur nu e albumul perfect, cum nu e nici "The Marshall Mathers LP", in opinia mea. Sunt niste track-uri care pot fi trecute cu vederea ( "Threehome95", "Lone" etc.), iar durata albumelor, oh man, de ce toti cred ca un album mai lung reprezinta un album mai bun in ultima vreme? It's not "Bastard", but it's miles better than "Goblin" let me just put it this way. rated 4/5 partea asta pe "Answer" gives you the chills, dupa toate cele spuse, si ura manifestata fata de tatal sau, el termina totusi cu replica "I hope he answer". Dualitatea asta a sentimentelor lui, destul de intriganta, nu? Hey Dad, it's me, um...
