"I dedicate this goal to President Berlusconi. It was a important goal and an important match. It’s a tough moment. It was an unforgettable birthday, the stuff of dreams. There’s still a lot of improvements to make. I’ll be in Milan tomorrow. I dedicate the goal to my family as well. They’re very special people and always close to me. The holidays? I still have to decide where I’m going. There’s not time to rest, we have a tough game on Tuesday and we have to go there to get the points.  I think that Ibra leaving has been to my benefit, I have more space to play and to show my worth. But the team is made of other players who are champions. We don’t think about players who have left we think of ourselves. The coach asks me to concentrate on the performance rather than the goals and I gave 100% and I satisfied”.

"These are three really important points and we really wanted to give them to the fans who were extraordinary again here this evening. The points were what counted today even though the performance was good and maybe for what we created and for the possession we had, we deserved more. We tried to open the game up right away but we were against a team that was very tight. We did well not to lose the ball. Ignazio, Urby and El Shaarawy all did well. We’re happy with the result. It was important to take a step forward in the league. It’s important for us mentally and we can go into the next two games with more serenity knowing that we have to continue with that we’re doing because we need the results to get back up the table. We’re no longer living in the Milanello sports centre after this week but it was important to do that to give a signal to the outside”.

“Well done to the team. We played a good first half and after that we gave everything to get the win because we need the points. Playing wide in a 3-4-3? Tactically it changes very little, it’s the attitude that’s important. The coach asked us to play high up the field and press hard and fortunately this evening we got the win. This year we have a lot of new players and we needed to look each other in the eye. We follow the coach, he’s a great man, he’s put himself in discussion like us and only by sticking together can we get out of this period. The work we did this week was necessary. I needed to out some petrol in my legs. Many of us are not playing the best we can but it’s not true that our minds are elsewhere. We’re focused on the pitch and on the moment and that’s why I was a bit upset with some of what I read in the papers. Playing every three days? We have to climb the league table and in that sense playing often could be an advantage. Now we go to Palermo for another three points”.
