Roberto Mancini is Barclays Manager of the Month for October after leading the club to four straight wins with his team averaging over four goals a game.

City began the month with a 4-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers, before netting another four goals against Aston Villa at home.

The incredible 6-1 away win at Old Trafford announced the Blues as genuine title contenders, while the lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League table was held with a confident 3-1 win over Wolves.

In total, City netted an incredible 17 goals during October, in what has been an extraordinarily goal-heavy start to the Barclays Premier League season. Throw in the wins in the Carling Cup and Champions League, and it all adds up to magnificent month for the manager!

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.

QPR will aim to upset another of the Premier League big boys as they host Manchester City on Saturday.

Rangers are unbeaten in four at home and won 1-0 against Chelsea in their last game at Loftus Road.

Now they welcome league leaders City, who have started the season in sensational form, averaging 3.6 goals per game in the Premier League.

Not even the defending champions could halt the Blues, with City thumping United 6-1 at Old Trafford.
But Hoops boss Neil Warnock, a gruff Yorkshireman who has spent over two decades managing in the lower leagues, would relish getting one over a suave continental such as Roberto Mancini.
Yet while Rangers' hopes of top-flight survival enjoyed a significant boost after recently coming into money - former City duo Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joey Barton were among their summer signings - their spending is dwarfed by that City have enjoyed.

Having assembled a squad most clubs in Europe envy, Mancini's main battle is now to keep his players happy and maintain the winning habit he has fostered so far this season.

The two points City have dropped so far in the league came during their last visit to west London, a 2-2 draw at Fulham in September.

QPR have a host of fitness concerns as Shaun Derry is out with a groin problem, Akos Buzsaky has an Achilles complaint, Rob Hulse is sidelined with a knee injury and DJ Campbell is missing with foot damage.

However, Kieron Dyer could return from his foot injury while Adel Taarabt may play despite suffering from a stomach complaint.

Jay Bothroyd is also pushing for a start after coming off the bench to score his first goal for the club in last Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham.

City captain Vincent Kompany misses his first league game of the season as the defender must serve a one-match ban after being sent off in last week's win over Wolves.

Joleon Lescott is expected to return in place of Kompany with Stefan Savic making his first Premier League start after starting in midweek.

Mancini is set to shuffle his attacking options and playmaker David Silva will be assessed after being substituted in Spain with a back injury. Owen Hargreaves (calf) hopes to be in contention but Carlos Tevez is likely to remain frozen out.

Former club captain Tevez has been frozen out since Roberto Mancini accused him of refusing to play in the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in September, although he was later charged with the lesser offence of refusing to warm-up in a club disciplinary hearing.
Mancini has told Tevez he can play again for the club if he apologises for his actions, but the 27-year-old has remained silent and appears set to seek a move away from Manchester in January.
"What happened is very sad," Aguero said on ESPNDeportes.com. "Carlitos is now training at the club, but not with us.
"It is a shame. Hopefully, in these days or the next month it can be solved and he will be with us."

Tevez travelled to his native country on Monday night to see his family and, while Tuesday was a scheduled day off for the 27-year-old, he was due at City's Carrington training ground on Wednesday morning - but did not show up.
A spokesman for Tevez told Press Association Sport: "He tried countless times to speak to Roberto Mancini."
The club have stressed that it had been made clear to Tevez that he would be required to come in, but it seems the striker believes he made every effort to seek permission for his journey home.
Tevez's spokesman added: "He was told it was Mancini's decision as to whether or not he could go and left numerous voice messages and texts on Mancini's phone.
"He didn't receive a response at all. He then flew to Argentina and tried to speak to Mancini again yesterday (Tuesday), leaving messages and texts. As of this moment we've had no response."
The spokesman was not prepared to comment on when Tevez is likely to return from South America, and City are not yet able to say what punishment the player may face. The news comes just 24 hours after it emerged that Tevez would not be appealing against the club's ruling that he was guilty of misconduct in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich on September 27.
City last month fined Tevez four weeks' wages and suspended him for two weeks - deemed to have already been served - after a disciplinary panel found the former Manchester United man guilty of five breaches of contract relating to his behaviour on the bench during the 2-0 loss at the Allianz Arena.
The Professional Footballers' Association become involved, making an intervention that saw the fine cut to two weeks' wages, and having backed Tevez on that occasion, PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has today expressed his dismay at the fresh turn of events.
"To say the least, I am very disappointed and extremely concerned now,"' Taylor told Sky Sports News.
