ottenham Hotspur look set to cash in on Jermaine Defoe this summer, leaving Manchester United and Liverpool are both keen on signing the striker.

Spurs boss Martin Jol, will force Defoe's hand, by offering him a three-year deal worth £30,000 per week. If the striker rejects this deal, he will be placed on the transfer list in the hope of starting a bidding war between the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Tottenham believe they will be able to fetch somewhere in the region of £12 million for the striker, who scored 18 goals in 49 appearances for the club last season.

Tevez nu a marcat in primele 19 jocuri ale sezonului asta, apoi - he rocked! Sheva nu a a vut un sezon bun deloc - a dezamagit pe toti. Jucatorilor le ia ceva timp sa se obisnuiasca cu Premiership.

Pe cine nu l-ar cumpara vara asta MU- nu ma astept la miracles. Va trece ceva timp pina se vor incadra in echipa.

Barca Offer Eidur As Bait
Barcelona have proposed a surprise £8million swap deal involving Eidur Gudjohnsen and Manchester United’s Gerard Pique. United signed Pique, 20, from Barcelona in 2004 by exploiting a loophole in the age Spanish players sign professional contracts. He has had a successful season on loan at Real Zaragoza and has caught the eye of Barcelona. The 6ft 4in centre half is due back at United after La Liga finishes on Sunday, with Sir Alex Ferguson telling him he will figure next season. Zaragoza have already had an offer rejected by United and are expected to make a new £7m bid in the next few days. Barca, however, want to add height to their defence and hope to tempt United with former Chelsea striker Gudjohnsen, 29.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is already looking ahead to his side's early season visits to Old Trafford and Anfield.

The 2007/08 Barclays Premier League fixtures were announced on Thursday, revealing that Sir Alex Ferguson's champions will host the Blues on September 22.

The second weekend of the season sees United visit Manchester City, while Chelsea will travel to Merseyside to face Rafa Benitez's Liverpool.

"The two fixtures that really stand out in the first few weeks are the ones at Liverpool and United," said Lampard. "We played very well in the second half at Old Trafford last season - some of the best football we played all season.

"It's quite simple. If you're serious about winning the championship then those are the games you have to get results in and so we know what's ahead."

#2095 Robyn, si MU a avut destul de multe accidentari,din care 2 de baza(Ferdinand si Vidic) macar sa fi fpst in acelasi timp.Iar eu in nici intrun caz nu subestimez Chelsea din contra spun ca ei vor f in urma noastra in clasament ne va fi cu mult mai greu decit daca ar fi alta echipa.

Portugal U21 International Miguel Veloso has today spoken of how he wishes to follow fellow Portuguese stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani to the Premiership.

Veloso can play in either the centre of defence or midfield and has been one of the rare players who has impressed for Portugal in the current European Under-21 Championship.

It is believed many English clubs are keeping tabs on the 21-year old with Arsenal and Man Utd the most keen to land the player.

"I am happy with Sporting but I am young, ambitious and want to progress in my career," Veloso said.

"The exit of Nani for Manchester United has confirmed to me that there is a lot of quality in England and for any young player the Premier League is an attractive proposition."

Veloso's agent Paulo Barbosa has also had his input:

"There are some big European clubs in for the kid, but not only clubs from England but also Spain - but the subject is exclusively for Sporting," Barbosa said.

"Veloso has a deal signed until June 2013 and club is not willing to negotiate his exit."
