I would like to begin a Triva Quiz here, for everyone who likes English language.
Total Quiz is open to everybody.

I will ask you a question and if you know the answer, you have to post it here.
Each first right answer will get a point.
Your points will be calculated according to the total of your correct answers.

The questions will be from different domains: grammar, civilization, music, sport ...
New questions are chosen randomly, from the “easy” and “average” levels to “difficult”.

The answers must be in English (exception if the question deals with translation)

Good luck.

Though I have doubts on the 5th, because estate agents buy and sell houses on behalf of other people, so the sentence should sound like this:
My cousing buys and sells hosues for other people/on behalf of other people. She's and estate agent.

#559 Imperator, "... sure: torch - flashlight ..." - if you mean electic torch then it's a flashlight, but if you use the word "torch"  to describe a burner that mixes air and gas to produce a very hot flame - then it's a blowlamp. So both words are correct.

When differentiating English and American Variants you have not to guide after the meaning. The meaning of two variants must be the same, the difference have to be in the words themselves.

torch - flashlight
torch - flashlight

I found smth. like that

torch1 [toːtʃ] noun
(American ˈflashlight) a small portable light worked by an electric battery
Example: He shone his torch into her face.
...
4 chiefly N. Amer. a blowlamp.

blowlamp is North American, but in this case it means паяльная лампа :)

фонарик: (American) flashlight - (British) torch
паяльная лампа: blowtorch, blowlamp
