Agent: Milan want Damiao

As talks with Milan began today, Leandro Damiao’s agents admit that the Rossoneri are keen to sign the Brazilian international striker.

The San Siro outfit are in the market for replacements are both ends of the pitch following the departures of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to France and Damiao looks to be the identified substitute for Ibra in attack.

Agents to the 22-year-old, who has scored 24 goals in just over two seasons with current club Internacional, were this afternoon spotted in Milan before talks with Diavolo club officials.

“We talked, it was an provisional meeting. Milan seem interested and we will meet again later,” admitted one of those representatives, Vinicius Frates, to reporters later on.

Damiao, who is believed to be preferred to Milan’s Alexandre Pato to lead the Brazil attack at the London Olympics starting soon, is valued at €20m.

MILAN - Here are the statements made by Daniele Bonera at the press conference:

"I think there is now need to think about giving more substance to names, if a top player arrives then so much the better. We are living through a moment that other clubs in the past have lived through in Italy and that other clubs are experiencing. We have to do our job and the club does the rest.

"The next friendly will be important, it can give us confidence, self esteem and enthusiasm it will be difficult because we are against tough opponents, but they are reliable tests.

"I heard that Ibra and Thiago are leaving, it is an environment where they know it works well. We're sorry, it was a major decision taken by the club.

"I've always felt like a starter, it is important for me to stay fit and then we will see if I play, but it ia a long season and everyone has the chance to play. We must run, we all have to run and put ourselves at the coach's disposal: the coach knows that I can adapt, but also knows that I prefer to play in the middle.

"Allegri is big enough to defend himself, with each of these players, there was a dialoue, and only they know what was said before they left. Rino also spoke with the club. And then it is normal that when players leave they have something to say. I personally have never had problems with Allegri.

"It is inevitable that whoever arrives will need time to adjust, but the answers are on the pitch. "When you win you can close one eye, when you're not getting the results you must be strict and I think that this is the line taken by the club."

THIAGO SILVA reveals he did not really want to join Paris SG and it was 100% the club’s decision to sell.

Milan sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain in a deal which would bring more than €65m to Milan’s coffers but it seems that at least one of them wasn’t thrilled by the idea of leaving.

Ibrahimovic claimed on his presentation yesterday that it was his decision to join Paris Saint-Germain but Thiago Silva claims his move was entirely the decision of the club, and apologizes to the fans of Milan.

“This is my first press conference as a player of Psg,” Thiago Silva said today. “I’m happy about this transfer, but also sad about having to leave Milan. I experienced very strong emotions at Milan – it’s a club that really dedicates itself to the players. I owe this club everything and I want to apologize to the fans of Milan.

“My transfer to Psg was a decision made 100% by the club and not me, seeing as I had just extended my contract. There are some people who say that I’m a mercenary, but I’m not going to Psg to earn more money than I did at Milan. I want to make it clear that it wasn’t my fault that I had to leave Milan, and I want to apologize to the Milan fans. Now I hope to do history with Paris Saint-Germain,” added the Brazilian.

“The people who know about football also understand how this case went. It was a complicated situation. My family and I did not want to leave Milan. Then Carlo Ancelotti and Leonardo alled me. It was Paris Saint-Germain’s project that prompted me to changing clubs. As Ibra said, they’re creating a dream team.”

Thiago tells details that put the club in a negative light: Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi appear to be the ones to push for the transfers of both players – or at least one them – who didn’t even want to leave.

EARLY START FOR YOUTH TEAM

New regulations and kick-off on August 25th. The Youth team are ready to go.

MILAN - The first team have already started work but Aldo Dolcetti's Youth side are not far behind because today the Lega Calcio released the fixture list for the 2012-13 Youth Team season and it all kicks-off on August 25th, just like the seniors.

But that isn't the only novelty. A new regulation will oblige all the teams to become even younger meaning that this year those born in the year 1994 and 1995 will make up the Primavera with one 'bonus' player allowed per team with no age limit and three players born after January 1st 1993 allowed. Aldo Dolcetti was not surprised by the changes: "The news that the league will start earlier did not surprise the club and it doesn't change anything, actually it means will be in line with the senior campaign. As far as we are concerned the new season is full of hope and intrigue. We have a very young team made up mostly of lads born in '95 but I am convinced that we can do even better than last season. Obviously the lads may find it a little hard at the beginning but I know they will come good down the line."

The squad will meet for the first time at Milanello on July 22nd for their medicals and the day after they will leave for Pinzolo until August 6th. The playoff will take place between May 4th-11th and the Finals between May 31st and June 9th 2013.

Milan, just like last season, have been inserted into Group B.

This is how Group B looks, with 14 teams: Atalanta, Bologna, Brescia, Cesena, Chievo, Cittadella, Inter, Milan, Modena, Padova, Sassuolo, Udinese, Varese, Verona.

mai pe scurt nu mai luam noi nici un fel de Damiao... fiindca avem o conducere de rahat, iar in al 2lea rind internacional nu doresc sa-l vinda, asaca din nou doar sperantze spulberate de catre galliani si berlusconi ! doi nesimtsitsi pe care nu mai vreau sa-i vad la conducerea clubului !

P.S. daca cineva vrea sa-mi reproseze cu ceva gen datorita lor am cistigat atitea trofee si bla bla, pai pot sa ma pish pe asta ! ce pla mea toata viatza o sa traim in trecut ?! gata ce a fost, a fost... Milan interested in Montpellier defender Yanga-Mbiwa - report

The Rossoneri have expressed their interest in the 23-year-old, who captained his side to Ligue 1 triumph last term, and could replace Thiago Silva at San Siro

AC Milan have earmarked Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa as a potential replacement for Thiago Silva, according to France Football.

The seven-time European champions last week sold the Brazilian international to Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain for €46 million, and are now looking to acquire the Frenchman to shore up their defence.

Yanga-Mbiwa skippered Montpellier to a surprise Ligue 1 triumph last season, with his burgeoning reputation earning him a call-up to France's preliminary Euro 2012 squad before being cut from the final 23.

The Rossoneri have already signed Francesco Acerbi from Genoa, but the club is understood to be looking for further reinforcements, with Yanga-Mbiwa thought to be the preferred choice for Massimiliano Allegri.

It is also believed that Adriano Galliani is monitoring FC Porto's Rolando as the Serie A runners-up look to compensate for the departure of Alessandro Nesta.

Yanga-Mbiwa has a valuation of around €6 million, with the 23-year-old having entering the final year of his contract.
