This was on Catalan sports paper Sport. Early report said it was due to cabin de-pressurisation problem.

Barcelona was supposed to be on a flight to La Coruna for tonight’s match. The players departed from El Prat at 11.30am and was scheduled to land in Galicia at around 1.15pm, but 20 minutes into the flight the captain informed them that they were forced to return to the Airport due to a de-pressurisation problem.

According to the crew, the aircraft’s cargo compartment door was not tightly closed, but it was reportedly to have already been fixed and the players will travel to La Coruna this morning.

News reports around the web were abuzz when highly respected former Germany and Bayern Munich’s manager Franz Beckenbauer was quoted to have made a disparaging remark about Manchester City’s Brazilian striker and rumoured Barcelona transfer target, Robinho two days ago when answering a reporter’s question about Brazil’s chances in the World Cup next summer.

“Brazil? I don’t think so. They have one striker (Luis Fabiano), then Kaka a bit behind,” the ‘Kaiser’ said, “And then you have Robinho. He can play in a circus but he’s not a team player.”

Robinho, 25, scored 15 goals in his first season in the Premier League following a British transfer record 42 million euros move from Real Madrid.

This season has not been kind to him however, as he injured his ankle early in September and was only recently cleared to play again.

According to a finding by French sports magazine L’Equipe, FC Barcelona and France forward Thierry Henry has added another record to his resume. With the goal he scored in Jerez, he has succeeded Michel Platini, the current UEFA president, as the nation’s top marksman with a total of 355 goals in his professional career, one more than the latter.

The French international, who is still active with club and country, could still add to that tally and leave a mark that might be unattainable for many years to come.

His current goals tally are as follows:

230 in League matches (20 in France with Monaco, 3 in Italy with Juventus, 174 in England with Arsenal and 33 in Spain with FC Barcelona),

15 in knockout and Cup tournaments (Juventus-4, Arsenal-6, and FC Barcelona-5),

The draw has been made and the groups for the World Cup 2010 have been settled. Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez will lead his teammates to represent Mexico against the host country South Africa for the opening game on June 11th. South Africa’s central defender Matthew Booth said that his hope is that 90 000 people will come to watch the game. “I hope there will come 90. 000 people in the opening game to watch us. We are really looking forward to this.” Marquez also gets the chance to meet his teammates Eric Abidal and Thierry Henry who represent France in group A. Uruguay was also drawn in group A. Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Argentina will meet South Korea, which Guus Hiddink coached to the semifinals in the World Cup 2002. They will also meet Nigeria and Greece who won the European Championship in 2004, coached by Otto Rehagel.

Moreover, Barcelona defenders Dani Alves and hopefully Maxwell representing Brazil, will get the chance to face Yaya Toure who represents Ivory Coast. Alves might also be able to get a new challenge against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. North Korea is also in group G, which is suggested to be the most difficult group. Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure stopped on Wednesday night in the mixed zone on Chapin Stadium in Jerez knowing he would receive all sorts of questions for his statements to “France Football” in which change of club arose because the Ivorian didn’t get the playing time he deserved.  He didn’t neither confirm or deny the veracity of his words (Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola had said the previous day that the Ivorian authorities had told him that he never said that).

The possible arrival of Javier Mascherano or inclusion in the Robinho deal made Toure reportedly believe that Barcelona wanted to get rid of him. These were his feelings until he spoke with Guardiola. Following was published in “France Football” and now the Ivorian midfielder feels important again. “Now I’ll just focus on my work and not paying attention to rumors,” Toure said. Now Toure is starting to look like the Toure of last season: friendly and smiling. It seems the storm has passed.

      “Депортиво Ла-Корунья” – еще один испанский клуб с титулом “королевский”. Участвует в примере с самого ее создания. Однако его участие в Ла-Лиге в дальнейшем, не самое постоянное.     Учитывая очень напряженный график “Барселоны” и стабильное выступление “Депортиво”, могу предположить, что матч не станет проходным. "Барсе" надо побеждать, чтобы сохранять разрыв от “Реала”, а “Депортиво” находится всего в трех очках от второго места, поэтому стимул у команды достаточно велик, да и свои стены конечно будут помогать. The Madrid based sports paper today claims Real Madrid is willing to entertain Arsene Wenger’s asking price of 50 million euros for Arsenal’s Catalan-born midfielder Cesc Fabregas (22) this summer. Despite repeated denials from the player ever since last summer, the paper insist that Cesc, after seven years in London, is practically ready to leave ‘the Gunners’, and even claims he already has the approval of his manager.

Arsene Wenger, the paper says, is only willing to let Cesc leave if the right price is offered.

It was reported incessantly by Spanish newspapers that Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta and presidential-candidate Sandro Rosell has the upper hand in luring the Catalan native to return to the Club that discovered his talent, where Cesc still has a lot of friends who publicly professed their desires to see him wear the Blaugrana jersey.

Marca claims that it was precisely this situation that has alerted Florentino Perez. Real Madrid is trying to up-end Barcelona with the megabucks bid that could sway Arsenal and Wenger’s decision towards it.

Recent reports coming out of los Blancos’ Director of Sports office acknowledged that, after scrutinizing the international market in recent months, could not contemplate a more complete player to bolster its midfield, discarding other possible targets such as Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard (29), Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff (23) and Juventus’ Filipe Melo (26), among others.

He is considered to be the midfielder that best complement Xabi Alonso, even though there are doubts arising from a fear of a potential overlap with Kaka’s responsibility.

Marca finally claims that, on paper, Real Madrid may offer more playing time possibilities for Cesc due to the fact that Pellegrini has been playing  with only two natural midfielders (Xabi Alonso and Lass Diarra) all season. In Barcelona, he will face more competition from Xavi and Iniesta, even Busquets, and not forgetting Keita, and the paper thinks that fact is certain to be evaluated by the player when making his decision.

Catalan sports paper Sport published a photo of the South African actress Charlize Theron with a Barça shirt. The actress, who yesterday was the star of the World Cup draw, is proudly wearing the Blaugrana colors.
